VHF-90M Vehicle Packages
The VHF-90M 50 Watt Vehicle Package is a military grade mobile communication set specifically designed for wheeled or tracked tactical vehicles. The package can withstand complete immersion, vibration, drop and temperature tests to Mil-Std 801F.
The core of the system is the VHF-90M transceiver which is an extremely compact and light weight unit, featuring only essential controls to ensure ease of operation in combat situations. The VHF-90M is available with a secure, jam-resistant ECCM Frequency Hopping and digital encryption option which can be field upgraded after the initial deployment.
The VDS-90M Docking Station provides convenient docking of the VHF-90M transceiver. The docking station can be installed in a range of vehicles including jeeps, patrol boats, troop carriers and tanks. The unit has fixing points for anti- vibration mounting and connection points for integration with a harness system as part of a multi-radio combat net. Auxiliary connectors are provided for data terminals, combat workstations, speakers and remote control facilities.
The VHF-50M 50W Booster Amplifier provides range extension and increased link reliability in conjunction with the external Q-MAC vehicle whip antenna system. In the event of failure, the VHF-50M has a pass-through mode to ensure continuous communication at lower power levels. The VHF-50M amplifier automatically selects the correct filter based on the selected frequency in the VHF-90M. The VHF-50M has a built in self test, with status indicator on the front panel.
Mounting
The VDS-90M and VHF-50M can be joined and mounted on one anti-vibration platform or separated depending on operational and space requirements. Using modern radio frequency design techniques the overall size of the system makes it one of the smallest VHF platforms available making it particularly suited to vehicles where space is at a premium.
