Data Products
Q-MAC provides a range of data products for use with the HF-90, HF-90M and VHF-90M transceivers. Q-MAC's data products are suitable for both military and commercial applications. The range includes HF modem packages, data terminals and combat workstations.
Q-MAC's Data Package incorporates a commercial grade HF modem and software designed specifically to provide the user with straightforward email, chat and file transfer functions via the HF transceiver. The Data Package was produced as a complete data solution that can be plugged into any existing Q-MAC HF-90 package.
The Field Data Terminal is ideal for users requiring a self-contained, rugged data unit. The FDT offers simple-to-use messaging and position reporting capabilities, without the use of a PC or modem. The terminal can be optioned with a GPS receiver to send and receive co-ordinates and can also be upgraded to encrypt messages to military standards.
A more comprehensive solution for tactical data transfer applications is the Secure Combat Workstation. The workstation incorporates secure messaging, mapping, position reporting and communications planning between data terminals and other workstations in a rugged, military grade laptop.Field Data Terminal
The QM9080 Field Data Terminal (FDT) is a hand held combat data terminal which is designed and built in Australia and will provide error free and secure transmission of text based messages by the Q-MAC HF-90 radio or via field cable or phone network.
The FDT is ideal for tactical applications where secure text based messaging is required in a simple easy to use format. The FDT can and be polled for unattended operation for tracking applications. This FDT is designed to meet many of the specific needs of tactical military users. The equipment is housed in a rugged, waterproof cast aluminium case designed to meet the challenges of tactical operations. Messages can be entered as free or formatted text, the latter by way of prompted question/answer fields.
The FDT is available to government and military users with an embedded encryption system. The FDT uses selective calling and can stack incoming messages which allows unattended operation. A store and forward option provides considerable flexibility while an error sensitive ACK/AGAIN capability reduces operator work load.
The equipment has an internal BITE system to assist fault finding and promote user confidence. The equipment is designed for both HF and VHF operations and a proven forward error correction system allows for operation in the frequency hopping environment.
Field Data Terminal Package Contents
The Field Data Terminal was produced as a complete data solution that can be plugged into any existing Q-MAC HF-90 package. All HF-90's since serial number 3500 have been data-capable.

The QM9080 FDT is a CYCOM® product designed and manufactured by Cypher Research Laboratories Pty Ltd and distributed internationally under an exclusive agreement with Q-MAC Electronics Pty Ltd.
